Spac diversifies its activities and clients with a cogeneration project undertaken for Eiffage in Finistère (Western France). Cogeneration consists in simultaneously producing and using electricity and heat produced from the same primal energy source, in the same plant. In this case, the source is a gas-operated motor whose exhaust gas are used to warm the water which will be used in the tomato greenhouses. The same motor also produces electricity, which is sold. Exhaust gas are filtered to be relieved of most of their CO2, which in turn is used to accelerate the tomatoes’ growth. Nothing is lost… The Piping and Process Facilities team has built and assembled this cogeneration device.
